Is activewear also your office wear, party wear, casual BBQ wear and lounge-about-the-house wear? Same. There isn’t much that I love more than great activewear that’s comfortable, durable and stylish. Activewear is MY JAM, people, and my love of activewear was the driving factor behind developing The Pretty Wild Store. The Activewear Edit
Here are a few things I look for in great activewear…
Firstly, is the company reputable? I hate nothing more than buying leggings from companies that don’t really know what they are doing and they just want a piece of the wellness industry pie. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few diamonds in the rough, but for the part I’m almost always left feeling disappointed.
What are their ethos? I want to make sure that I’m not just giving my money to some rich billionaire so he can stock his yacht with more caviar. Does the company I am supporting give back in some way? Do they support important movements? Do they understand their impact on the environment and do they treat their people well?
Style. When I buy activewear I want it to last forever, so it must be timeless! I look for high cut leggings (complimentary for pretty much all body types) and well-fitted bras and tops. There’s no point buying those weird wrap-around leggings because they aren’t really functional and they were trending like 3 years ago!
Fabric. If you’re going to go with a print, make it subtle. This ties in with my last point. Neutral tones, even in a print, are going to stand the test of time but crazy prints that are trending now will probably look gaudy next year.
Feel. I don’t buy clothes that do not feel nice on my skin. Life is too short for that nonsense! Excellent fabric is key; not only must it be long lasting but I want it to feel like a second skin.
