Rest & Restore
CARMARTHEN, WALES
Rest & Restore Retreat in Wales
THE WEEKEND YOUR BODY AND SOUL ARE CRAVING
Join Chrissie Homer-Greenslade and I for a weekend to rest, restore and commune with stillness and nature in rural South Wales.
Dates: Friday 27th - Monday 30th June (3 nights)
OVERVIEW
This Summer, we’re escaping to a cosy farm house in South Wales for a long weekend of yoga, delicious food, hot tubing, wild swimming, hiking and rest. Glorious rest. Our mornings will start with an energising practice and meditation in the yoga shala overlooking the Welsh countryside, followed by a hearty brunch then a day to unwind in the shade of a tree with a good book, relax in the hot tub or hike the footpaths to ancient castles, waterfalls and beautiful viewpoints. In the evenings we’ll indulge in restorative yoga, yin and yoga Nidra before tucking into a hearty dinner then roasting marshmallows around the fire.
THE ACCOMMODATION
We’re basing ourselves at Golden Grove Retreat Centre; a cosy farmhouse in Carmarthen, South Wales. As well as the beautiful yoga shala and ceremonial spaces the farm has a hot tub, cold plunge and outdoor fire place as well as extensive lawns and beautiful views across the countryside. The bedrooms in the barn are warm and welcoming with underfloor heating, comfortable bedding and most have ensuite bathrooms. If you’re looking for something a little more rustic then we also have use of Golden Grove’s safari tent that has 3 bedrooms (twin or double bed set up available) and the bathrooms are detached with compost toilets.
Golden Grove is owned and run by a South African and Kenyan couple so expect touches of Africa everywhere you look - something that I absolutely loved when we first discovered this little spot of heaven.

“Kat was absolutely fantastic! I recently went on a yoga retreat with her to Iceland and was blown away by her ability to work through poses with people of all sizes and varying athletic abilities. Each day had a varied energy and vibe, and I left with a true sense of well-being and personal contentment. As someone who’s practiced yoga for nearly a decade, I feel very confident in recommending her on 5 stars to anyone at any level.”
THE YOGA
All our Wales yoga retreat classes will take place in a dedicated yoga shala or the spacious ceremonial room. Each morning we will begin the day with a mindful meditation and an invigorating vinyasa yoga practice to build heat and energy for the day ahead.
In the evenings, before dinner, we’ll unwind with a sweet Yin or restorative yoga class and a Yoga Nidra. All classes incorporate mindfulness, pranayama (breath work) and meditation and are accessible to all levels.
THE FOOD
We’re working with a local caterer and serving up hearty, wholesome vegetarian meals for this retreat. You can expect a light breakfast each morning before practice, a delicious brunch, some snacks for afternoon tea and dinner. Hot drinks, juices and a selection of wines are also included. Please do let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences and we’ll do our best to accommodate these.
