My Top 3 Yoga Playlists on Spotify
Oooh I just LOVE a good playlist; it can make or break your self practice and, if you’re a yoga teacher who teaches with music, it can definitely make or break the atmosphere in your class! I spend hours refining my Spotify playlists and I have one (sometimes two, or even three!) for every mood. Knowing what works, and having taken inspiration from various other playlists myself, I decided to share a few of my favourites for you to enjoy too. You can pin the names and artists to your Pinterest account and save for a later date, or click straight through to each playlist and follow them to have access to them whenever you want!

My top 3 Yoga Playlist on Spotify
1. Yoga Hour
I love this playlist because it’s not too much of anything; it hits you right in the feels in the best way, and never gets you too worked up. It’s great for a slinky Vinyasa session or, frankly, just to pump up and listen to in the tub with a chilled glass of Chardonnay.
This playlist is exactly what it sounds like - for those days you want to turn off your phone, lock the door and just melt into a state of endless, delicious flow. This is my go-to Saturday morning playlist for unwinding from the week on my mat. I love it.
We all need a bit of Yin in our lives, and this playlist encourages you to get there and stay there. If you’re new to Yin Yoga then, oh boy, are you in for a treat! Read all about why Yin yoga should be in your life here, and practice with me to get a taster here.
The funny thing is, I practice with music, but I don’t teach with music. Because I’ve found that, in certain classes it can become a major distraction. In a Power Yoga class, for example, I want to concentrate and to hear my breath and to feel emotion evoked by movement instead of music. So I reserve music in my classes for slinky, feel-good Vinyasa sessions, Yin, Restorative and self practice.
I love the silence, it’s so deeply personal and immersive, but when the beat drops in the thick of your sweat sesh and suddenly you’re powered up and ready to flick into a handstand and YOU DO… it’s an amazing feeling!
If you always practice with music, I challenge you to try practice in the quiet instead; and see what happens with your mind and breath when there is no distraction. If you always practice in silence, then you NEED to add some tunes once in a while and loosen up - have a dance midway through and sing your lungs out. The right playlist will leave you feeling EPIC!
